I can't thank Eve enough for helping me and my dog Stan. She addressed all of the issues Stan had (especially Barking at possums and recall)and gave me the confidence, that with the training I had done with Stan under Eve's instructions and the traing that i continue to give him, he will turn out a well balanced and happier dog.I highly recomend Eve at Dogaholics Dog Training and Behaviour Services.

The setup was fantastic — each dog had its own separate space, and the dividers worked so well to help them stay calm without seeing each other. I also really appreciated the venue; my puppy loved having the chance to settle inside the class and then enjoy little breaks outside in the large green area. And of course, Eve was amazing — not only teaching us new techniques, but also sharing videos and resources that were incredibly helpful.

I recently used Eve for three training sessions for my dog, Willow. It's clear that Eve is very passionate about her work, taking time to explain theory and to provide practical demonstration of techniques to use. With practise at home, I've seen great success with Willow. Eve is a fantastic trainer and teacher and I would highly recommend her services.

Highly recommend Eve. She helped us with our reactive/anxious X Staffy who had just been recently attacked by another dog. Eve was kind and non judgmental during the consult. The space where she does the consult is also very dog specific --both an inside and outside area. We noticed positive progress in our dog within days of following her advice.

We reached out to Eve for a behaviour consultation after our dog started showing some concerning behaviours. The sessions were very informative and useful - not just for our dog but for us too. Eve took the time to explain why the behaviour was happening and gave us clear, practical strategies to support him. We also realise some of our actions were making things worse for our poor boy! We are really grateful and would highly recommend Dogaholics to anyone needing a knowledgeable and compassionate trainer and behaviourist!

Eve was very knowledgeable and offered fantastic advice. I have a very nervous rescue dog that usually takes a long time to settle in new places or around strangers but Eve made her feel so comfortable within our first visit, so quickly you would have thought it was her second home. Definitely recommend Dogaholics.

UNDERSTANDING AGGRESSIVE BEHAVIOUR

Understand what is driving your dog’s behaviour.

Aggressive behaviour can be influenced by fear, frustration, discomfort, previous experiences, environment or the way a dog responds to particular situations. Understanding what happens before, during and after the behaviour is an important first step.

Dogaholics helps pet parents identify patterns, understand their dog’s communication and develop practical strategies for everyday life. With personalised guidance, you can help your dog build alternative responses while creating greater confidence for everyone involved.

BUILDING BETTER RESPONSES

Help your dog feel safer, calmer and more confident.

Behaviour change starts with understanding why a response is happening rather than simply trying to stop the behaviour itself. By recognising your dog’s triggers, body language and emotional state, you can begin creating more positive experiences.

Science-based behaviour strategies can help your dog learn different ways to respond while reducing unnecessary pressure and keeping progress at a pace they can manage.

Dogaholics develops an approach around your dog, household and goals, giving pet parents practical steps to follow and a clearer understanding of how to support lasting behavioural change.

POSITIVE BEHAVIOUR CHANGE

Build safer responses without fear, force or punishment.

Aggressive behaviour is communication. Understanding what your dog is responding to allows training to focus on changing the underlying emotional response as well as the behaviour you can see.

Positive, science-based strategies help create situations where your dog can learn successfully without being pushed beyond what they can comfortably manage.

We help pet parents recognise important signals, manage situations thoughtfully and introduce training exercises that encourage calmer, more appropriate responses over time.

The goal is practical, sustainable progress that helps your dog feel more secure while giving you greater clarity and confidence when navigating everyday situations together.

MORE CONFIDENT EVERYDAY LIFE

Feel more confident understanding and guiding your dog.

When you understand what contributes to your dog’s behaviour, everyday decisions can become clearer and easier to manage.

You can learn to recognise earlier communication, identify situations that may require more space and create opportunities for your dog to practise calmer responses successfully.

Consistent strategies across the household also give your dog clearer expectations, helping new behaviours become more familiar and dependable over time.

With appropriate guidance and repeated positive experiences, your dog can develop greater confidence while pet parents gain practical skills for creating safer, calmer and more enjoyable everyday experiences together.

our process

Why Dogaholics training works.

  1. Dogaholics identifies the underlying cause.

Most unwanted behaviours are symptoms, not the problem itself. Barking, pulling, lunging, anxiety and reactivity often stem from underlying emotions, learning experiences and unmet needs. We take the time to understand what is driving your dog’s behaviour so we can address the cause, not just manage the symptoms.

  1. Dogaholics science based training.

Using evidence-based behavioural science and positive kind reinforcement methods, we create a personalised training plan for your dog. By building new skills, confidence and emotional resilience, we help your dog learn better ways to respond to the world around them.
Dogaholics Process

  1. Happy and confident
lasting outcomes.

When the underlying cause is understood and the right skills are developed, meaningful change becomes possible. The result is a calmer, more confident dog, clearer communication, a stronger relationship and practical behaviours that support a happier life together.

Frequently asked questions

Behaviour can change when the factors influencing it are properly understood and appropriate strategies are used consistently. Progress varies between dogs because behaviour is influenced by genetics, learning history, environment, health and individual experiences. Personalised guidance helps establish realistic goals and a suitable behaviour plan.
Aggressive behaviour can have many influences, including fear, frustration, guarding, discomfort, previous experiences or feeling unable to create space another way. Identifying the context and recognising your dog’s body language helps determine what may be contributing to the behaviour.
Punishment can suppress warning signals without addressing why the behaviour is happening and may increase stress or uncertainty. Dogaholics uses positive, science-based strategies that focus on understanding the underlying behaviour, managing situations appropriately and teaching your dog safer alternative responses.
Your dog’s behaviour, history, environment and everyday situations are discussed so the factors influencing the behaviour can be better understood. You will receive practical guidance, management strategies and appropriate training exercises based on your dog, household and goals.
There is no standard timeframe because every dog and behaviour pattern is different. The type of behaviour, how long it has been occurring, the situations involved and your dog’s individual responses can all influence progress. A personalised plan provides clearer steps and realistic expectations.
Dogaholics can provide personalised behaviour support for a range of aggressive responses involving dogs, people and everyday situations. The first step is understanding exactly what is happening so an appropriate approach can be developed around your dog’s behaviour and individual circumstances.
