WHAT TO EXPECT
A rewarding challenge at every stage
K9 Nose Work® is inspired by professional scent detection training and adapted into an enjoyable activity for pet dogs of different breeds, ages, sizes and abilities.
Your dog will be introduced to carefully planned searches that encourage them to investigate, make decisions and use their nose independently. Each activity progresses at a comfortable pace, allowing skills and confidence to develop naturally.
You’ll also learn how to observe your dog’s body language, reward successful searches and become a supportive partner throughout the process.

K9 Nose Work® can be enjoyed by puppies, senior dogs, blind or deaf dogs and dogs with different training needs. Everyone gets the opportunity to learn, explore and enjoy working together.

What is K9 Nose Work®?
K9 Nose Work® is a scent-based activity inspired by the work of professional detection dogs. Your dog learns to locate specific scents through structured searches, providing mental enrichment while encouraging confidence, focus and independent problem-solving.
Does my dog need any previous training?
No previous training is required for Level 1. The course introduces each activity step by step, making it suitable for dogs and pet parents who are completely new to scent work.
What dogs can take part?
K9 Nose Work® is suitable for dogs of different breeds, sizes and abilities, from puppies through to seniors. It can also be enjoyed by blind or deaf dogs and dogs that benefit from individual space while learning.
What will my dog do during class?
Your dog will complete progressive scent searches in a variety of setups and environments. They’ll learn to follow their nose, investigate independently and communicate when they have located the target scent.
Can I make up a missed class?
Courses are structured as complete programs, with each session building on the skills introduced previously. To keep the classes consistent and fair for all participants, make-up sessions are not available for missed classes.
