Dog to Dog Reactivity

Is your dog whining, crying, barking, lunging, growling and even trying to bite other dogs when you go for a walk?

We know this can be frustrating, embarrassing, and stressful!

We have also lived with dogs who display these behaviours so we know exactly what you are going through!  And sometimes, these behaviours are only displayed by your dog on leash but not off leash!

Don’t despair, because we can help you understand why your dog is displaying these behaviours and help you and your dog find some relief!

Our dog-to-dog aggression and reactivity program allows you to methodically work through the program with our Canine Behaviour Consultant so we can help you make continued progress to achieve your goals!

WHAT'S INVOLVED IN OUR 'DOG TO DOG REACTIVITY TRAINING PROGRAM?'Dog Aggression

If you would like to understand why your dog is sensitive (showing reactive behaviours) to some aspects of the environment, then you have a few options.  You can book an initial consultation (which is approximately 80 minutes).  This allows us to take a full history and determine the cause of the reactivity.

However, if you are looking for something a little more in-depth, we also offer the "Dog-to-Dog Aggression and Reactivity Program".  This consists of 4 x 1-hour consultations, whereby we help you through the process of understanding your dog’s behaviour and guide you through a step-by-step treatment plan to meet your goals.

These consultations are conducted from our home office in Adamstown Heights and the practical components are conducted out in the environment.

It is important that you are able to dedicate the time and effort to implement our recommendations and strategies and do the work in-between our sessions so that you can see improvements in the behaviour of your dog.

Changing your dog’s behaviour requires you to change your behaviour first so it is important that you are committed, willing and able to put into practice what you have learnt in our private sessions.

HOW TO MAKE A BOOKING?

1. Contact us through our 'contact us form' and let us know you would like to book our Reactive Training Program (or an initial consultation).  We will then contact you to organise dates and times.  Please be aware that full payment for this program is due at time of booking.

2. On the day of your appointment, make sure you are prepared by bringing plenty of food to be used for training such as cooked chicken breast, cooked kangaroo sausages or any other meat that is healthy for your dog.  You can also bring cheese.  Remember to cut the food up into small pieces.

3. Your dog will need to have a flat collar (normal) collar or harness and a lead. No choker chains are allowed in training.

4. Please ARRIVE ON TIME.  We have clients before and after you and if you are late, we cannot run into the next client’s appointment time.  This means if you run late, your consultation will end at the allocated time, and you will not receive your full allocated time.

5. CANCELLATIONS OR RESCHEDULING - We require 72-hours’ notice for any changes or cancellation otherwise the full consultation fee will be charged.  This is to protect our small business so we can continue to pay our bills and operate.  Please note, packages are non-refundable.

6. NO SHOWS - If you do not attend your consultation and do not give any notice, the full consultation fee will be charged.  Please be respectful as we have set aside time for your consultation that others could have taken.
